Ki Sung-yong scores, but Celtic drop points to Inverness

Korean midfielder Ki Sung-yong‘s second goal of the season wasn’t enough to end Inverness Caledonian Thistle‘s impressive unbeaten away record as Celtic surrendered a two-goal lead to end the match in a disappointing 2-2 draw.

Cha Du-ri also played full time in Celtic’s draw.

Ki maintained his recent superb form by blasting home a well struck shot in the 38th minute. The 21 year-old received Patrick McCourt‘s pass on the left channel of the box and launched a strong right footed shot  past the near post following a nifty turning move on Inverness midfielder Stuart Duff.

Celtic built a two-goal lead in the 65th minute through McCourt, but the away side started its rally with Richie Foran‘s goal just five minutes later and Grant Munro‘s equalizer in the 83rd minute extended a year-long unbeaten away record by Terry Butcher‘s side in the Scottish Premier League to 18 matches.

The draw held Celtic from overtaking Rangers for the top spot on the league table. Celtic are now two points behind the league leaders despite having played an additional match.
